My Acne daily skincare must haves!

The Murad Blemish Control skincare range

Acne prone skin is a nightmare for most of us that suffer from this dreadful skin  type.  Studies have showed that 6 out of 10 of us will suffer from this skin disease in our life time.

Acne is contributed by many different factors such as diet, lifestyle, genetics, medication and many more. There has been nothing found for the cure of acne. 95% of acne sufferers have said that it effects how they feel especially their confidence levels which were at a low.

Here is The Murad Blemish Control skincare that I have been using since April 2016.  I would recommend this range for mild to moderate acne.

Step 1

Murad Clarifying Cleanser

http://www.murad.co.uk

This gel cleanser fights any active blemishes whilst washing away bacteria and oil build up on the skin that will help reduce and prevent future breakouts.  Although it is a maximum strength cleanser, it is a gentle cleanser that does not cause irritation to the skin.

The deep cleanser is an oil- soluble formula that cleanses as deep into the pores whilst the the powerful Green Tea extract acts as a powerful antioxidant, which leaves the skin looking healthier, brighter and clearer. It contains Salicylic Acid, an ingredient known for its amazing healing properties for acne irritated skin.

How to use: This is step 1 of 3 steps.

Step 1-Lather a small amount onto your face. Add water to create a rich creamy texture and massage all over the face. Rinse well with warm water and allow to air dry or towel dry in a patting motion gently.

My review: I would give this product a massive 8/10. I loved how it left my skin feeling fresh and deep cleaned. The only downside of this product is that it left my skin feeling tight and mildly dry, but this would be because I have dry skin anyway. So if you do have dry and acne prone skin I would recommend moisturising well with an oil free moisturiser. Overall apart from that, it is a total God send, I love how gentle it was to my skin, how it dried out my blemishes without leaving any scaring and helped control any oily areas on my face ( t-zone) through out the day.

Step 2

Murad Blemish Clearing Solution

http://www.murad.co.uk

"A powerful anti-blemish serum with a formula that rapidly reduces breakouts, with 96% of users seeing clearer skin in just 72 hours*. The non-comedogenic serum won't block pores and helps clear breakouts while reducing blemish-related redness. It also supports irritated, stressed skin for a healthier-looking complexion."  (www.murad.co.uk)

This serum rapidly reduces breakouts whilst keeping the skin feeling hydrated, unlike many spot clearing serums or solutions that dry out the skin.

It contains Tree Tea, which is known for its purifying properties and prevents future breakouts from occurring. A combined vitamin blend contributes heavily towards soothing and healing irritated skin so that the skin is left looking healthier and clearer.

How to use: Apply a small amount all over face and any other affected areas. Now follow onto step 3 with The Blemish Spot Treatment.

My review: This is an amazing product that gradually helps heal the skin and helped clear my skin. I love how it is a hydrating serum that does not clog the pores yet heals the blemishes. Like many acne sufferers, one main concern is how acne products can be very drying as they contain Salicylic acid, an ingredient that helps fight bacteria; which will eventually will build up and cause breakouts. This product does not do that and left my skin feeling hydrated and plump before applying my spot treatment on.

Step 3

Murad Blemish Spot Treatment

http://www.murad.co.uk

This Blemish Spot Treatment contains the ingredient sulphur that is an 'instant on-the-spot treatment' for active breakouts and minimises future breakouts. Zinc helps soothe and protect from irritation. It contains AHAs and BHAs to gently encourage cell turnover.

The AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) is acids derived from natural substances such as sugar cane, milk, grapes etc.  It is known for it's ability to exfoliate the skin. It works by removing the upper layer of skin and therefore get rids of all the stubborn dead skin cells. The alpha hydroxy acids promotes new skin growth, helping heal and diminish blemishes. AHA stimulates the skin to promote elastisity and collagen  growth.

BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) contains salicylic and citric acids that loves oily skin! BHA is highly used for oily, acne-prone skin and for treating existing blackheads/whiteheads. It works by getting deep into the skin cleaning out any oil that will clog the pores. BHA’s contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and highly used for irritated skin and even rosacea.

How to use: After following step 1 and step 2, apply a small amount directly onto the affected areas. Use twice a day, day and night.

My review: I only use this product when I have small blemishes. It works very effectively on small breakouts but not so effective for larger breakouts. I like how it treats the blemish without causing the skin to dry out.

As the products contains acids, please ensure to use a high SPF of SPF 40+ to protect the skin from environmental damage and most importantly hyper-pigmentation.

All my reviews are honest reviews of what I use and try out. If I don't like a product for any reason, I will give my reasons. These products are part of my daily skincare routine, for only when I require to use it; during the times my skin breaks out.
